China's 15th Five-Year Plan was presented in October 2025 and will cover a five-year period from 2026 to 2030.
This plan is the official roadmap or guide for the country in various areas, such as economic, social, and political. In turn, this document serves to establish priorities and coordinate public policies, among other things.
This document plans the actions that will guide the country during that period of time.
Among the main objectives of this plan are to strengthen economic resilience and technological self-sufficiency.
In terms of diplomacy, this plan projects China as a stable and reliable partner in a world of great uncertainty. It seeks to be a responsible country on various issues, including clean energy and food security.
It also projects its diplomacy toward cooperation with countries in the Global South, such as the BRICS and Latin America. It also projects China's participation in multilateral forums such as the UN, the World Trade Organization, and the G20.
This Plan is also consistent with the Belt and Road Initiative, which seeks to expand connectivity and trade.
As an internal guide and instrument, the Plan in question is also an important international diplomatic tool for China.
