Guangzhou 2025: Understanding China Conference

From November 30 to December 2, 2025, the Understanding China Conference will be held in Guangzhou, China, where political leaders, academics, businesspeople, and international representatives will gather to discuss China's modernization and its perspective on global governance within the framework of the 15th Five-Year Plan.


This event is organized by three important institutions: the China Institute for Innovation & Development Strategy (CIIDS), the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), and the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government.


The central theme of the conference is “New Plan, New Development, New Choices.” In addition to the above, the main topics to be discussed include: Chinese modernization, global governance, the Global Governance Initiative, and how the 15th Five-Year Plan will influence areas such as trade, among others.


The international importance of this conference lies in the fact that it will be attended by leaders and representatives from more than 70 countries.


It is important to note that the aim is to strengthen multilateralism and cooperation with the Global South.


This conference thus serves as a space for international dialogue, with a focus on strengthening public diplomacy and promoting multilateralism.
