Oriental Diplomacy: China's Proposals for Peace in the Middle East

On June 19, 2025, Chinese President Xi Jinping held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in which the central topic was the crisis in the Middle East, especially the conflict between Israel and Iran.


Chinese President Xi Jinping condemned the Israeli attacks and presented a four-point proposal to promote peace:


1.- Immediate ceasefire.

2.- Protection of the civilian population.

3.- Direct dialogue between the parties.

4.- International responsibility to reduce tensions.


For his part, the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, fully supported this initiative and expressed his willingness to collaborate with China for regional stability.


This call represents an important effort to promote the de-escalation of the Middle East crisis, as well as a way to express the concerns shared by the nations of the international community.
